Papa Kupu Beginner Hawaiian Language 1
This online learning module is designed for first-time Hawaiian language learners and those who want a refresher in basic Hawaiian language. No prior Hawaiian language experience is necessary.
Students will learn new vocabulary words, the Hawaiian alphabet, syllabary, descriptive sentences, locational sentences, ʻaike o, and ʻaike he. 'Ike kūpuna (ancestral knowledge) is also shared through ʻōlelo noʻeau (Hawaiian proverbs) and wahi pana (storied places) to help students learn Hawaiian culture and worldview.
The course is asynchronous (completely online). You can join at any time and work at your own pace. There are no scheduled meeting times.
